Kinect.

Microsoft has done it again. They came out with Kinect this last week and ever since it’s launch they have had problems.

One problem was that it cannot recognize some people who have a darker pigment skin. WHAT!? So they are saying that they made a RACIST gaming device? What a bunch of bastards!

Well if that is a potential problem, then what about people who have disabilities or facial dis-configurations (I’m not trying to be mean or inconsiderate here, just pointing out other possible problems that may rise)? What about people with facial hair? What about people missing an arm, or a leg? CAN THEY PLAY!?

A second mishap, not exactly a problem by default on their part, are the injuries arising from people playing at home. Let’s be fair here and give Kinect at least SOME respect in that they do tell users to play in a safe environment with no obstacles… or something like that.

I never really thought about getting a Kinect since the games you could play are very limited and not the types of games I would see myself playing. I mean seriously? I’m not paying 300 bucks to play virtual volleyball or soccer or some wacky adventure game. I could go outside, yes outside, you know that place where there are OTHER PEOPLE and the SUN and lots of other things, and I could play those sports or go on a real adventure with my friends or family and have a lot more fun doing so. These problems, and I’m pretty sure more will arise, do not interfere with my decision to not get one. I simply do not wish to purchase such a useless device. If I wanted something like this, I could have gotten a Wii ages ago, which might I remind you also had a pigment problem when it was first released. PS3 also has a similar device which includes handheld devices though.

At least Microsoft and Sony did a much better job with their full body gaming systems then Nintendo could. Sorry Nintento, but you should just stick to making Pokemon games; after Black and White, I think you guys are pretty much out of colors unless you want to make something called Pokemon Sepia or Pokemon Amaranth. Although it would be pretty cool to make a Pokemon Pink and release it during Breast Cancer Awareness month and donate a certain percentage of your sales to Breast Cancer Research. Haha, maybe it will happen if they run out of ideas.
