Finals.

The stress, lack of sleep, lack of food, cramming, studying, projects, presentations, assignments all crammed into a week. Now at this point I should be asking myself where I should be concerned about my health or my grades and frankly the answer is my grades. Why you may ask? Well the answer is simple. Summer is for sleeping, eating, hanging out, having fun, and making memories. School is the epitomy of hell itself. Doesn’t matter which way you look at it. From the moment we were 5(well 6 for those of us who had to wait because our birthdays didn’t coincide with their stupid system) we were put into the system. K-5 was simple, easy to pass, really understanding faculty and staff cause you “didn’t know any better.” 6-8 was a little more complicated. Your grades actually meant something. You could be put into an Honors program and become somewhat better then your fellow students. They made you become a part of the system to either rise to the top and succeed or fall back and fail. Then what some people call the best part of their lives 9-12. This was like walking down the cat walk during auditions. You got what the team is looking for, then you’re in; if not, then sorry try again next year. You either got the grades, joined the clubs, took sports, and did community service to get accepted to a college or you didn’t and failed and were not even allowed to graduate till you met requirements. And now look at where we are. Some of us are in our dream schools, living the life, getting by. The rest are working towards getting to that point. Either way the Government and School Board has decided to make cutbacks or spending in the Education sector. Hmmm, remember back in the day when you could graduate in 4 years and be well on your way to getting your dream job? Well welcome to hell, you can work your ass off and take summer classes, max out units, and have no life and complete it in 4 years(that is if they don’t make anymore cuts) or you can go through like everyone else and graduate in oh I don’t know 6 years? I think that the U.S. needs to stop spending their money in other countries and on pointless wars and shit and actually pay attention to the amount they need to PAY BACK. Oh did I forget to mention the crumbling education system and pointless programs that are being created everyday and being allowed to run? The current government is so corrupt it’s not even funny. Run by large businesses, NOT by the people. We call ourselves a Democratic nation? Let me know when THE PEOPLE are actually the ones making the decisions.

Ok so I kind of deviated off the main topic but I guess that’s what blogs are for. Back to the main topic. Best of luck to everyone taking finals and the people who are preparing for them in the weeks to come!! I know I’m ready for Summer ‘10; the question is, are you?
